HIV/AIDS PROBLEMS: A CROSSING SUBLIMATION

HIV/AIDS is a major health problem and a threat to the economic and social establishment of the 21st century world. It is not just confined to a particular region or a country, but has gripped the entire world.
The victims of HIV/AIDS have generally been the poor, illiterate and economically weaker sections of the society, with the intensity ranging high amongst the youth. However, in the present day, the infection is found among all the sections of the society. Likewise, the nature of the incidence of HIV has also increased in the recent period; it is not only confine to the traditional places like, labour-camps, red light areas, highways, hotels, bars etc, but also, the Spa centers, massage parlors, tourist resort, beaches, call centers etc.
The immediate cause of the HIV/AIDS includes; both biological and behavioral factors, such as, the high prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases and an unprotected sexual intercourse or multiple sexual Partners. Infected blood transfusion, contaminated syringes, unhygienic handling of medical equipment, intravenous drug users, commercial sex worker and truck drivers has been the major causes and vectors of transmitting AIDS virus.
Though international agencies and institutions, local governments, faith based groups and NGOs have mounted the appreciable tools and awareness mechanisms to contain the epidemic, but the problems and consequences’ brought about by the HIV/AIDS menace is insurmountable.
The road is clear and wide, maps and charts are in the hand. The governments must not therefore wait how soon the journeys take place, rather should show green signal and flag off the wavering awareness programmes from every junction to fight and restrict the HIV/AIDS pandemic. There are millions waiting to catch back their lost smiles and millions expecting and hoping for better and sustainable future tomorrow.
