A Woeful Tale in 21st Century

An 82 year old woman lost her husband 2 decades ago, no issues of son and supposedly survived by her two enterprising daughters. Lost her beautiful vision and capability to hear and cognition till her last breath.
She lays writhing in pain, flesh getting peeled from her body bit by bit each passing day, foul smell all around, deeped in her fond memories of yesteryear and blatantly being shunned by her once adorable and now grown up daughters.
When people say take her to hospital, they say she will die anyway.
When people say let us help her, they say you are encroaching our private affairs.
When neighbour’s try to help her, they say you are maligning our reputation.

???Is this what we reward for our parents who once upon a time took a great deal to wash us, feed us, protected us, appreciated our misdeeds and gave every possible comfort and love.

???Is this the seed we are sowing for ourselves tomorrow?

???Or is it indeed a sustainable concepts being cherished by modern human development ethos.

Anyway i am sitting dumb and watching when all this things are happening in front of me in my next door 21st Century neighborhood.
Sadly she left for heaven today
May her soul rest in peace.
